The rock hit the Georgia countryside. – An entity associated with actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has acquired a historic 46-acre property in suburban Atlanta.
A Georgia-based company linked to Johnson’s Los Angeles business executives has bought an equestrian home in the small rural town of Powder Springs for about $9.5 million, according to public property records. Johnson, 47, a former professional wrestler who has built his career as an actor and producer, could not be reached for comment.
At the center of the sprawling, multi-parcel estate is a massive 14,000-square-foot complex with eight bedrooms, enough space for Mr. Johnson’s family of five.
The main home was built in 2002 and features stone fireplaces, a custom wine cellar, a backyard with cabana, and a free-form saltwater pool, according to listing Harry Norman Realtors agent Jeff Degarnett. DeJarnett declined to comment on the sale.
The elegant home is inspired by the French countryside, including partial brick and stone cladding on the outside, large windows, and a rustic interior with exposed wood and stone, as the photos show. Amenities also include a cozy library with wood paneling and stained glass.
The Johnsons also gets a fully equipped horse ranch with a 12-booth barn and riding yard with an observation deck. Among its oldest charms is an original 150-year-old farmhouse, which now serves as a grooming cabin, according to the ad.
The sale comes just months after the Fast and the Furious star married longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian in Hawaii.
The deal also follows an announcement in September that Johnson and Danny Garcia, his business partner and ex-wife, plan to host the inaugural fitness conference, called Atheticon, in Atlanta in October 2020.
